Mapping our journey
Julie and I are pretty keen on maps. We’ve collected a large range of foldable paper maps, we’ve had map books, downloaded maps to our phones and used online services like Google Maps and Maps.me. Maps are fun, both for planning our journey and tracking our journey. Now that we’ve finished South America our map of this continent has a nice line across it showing where we’ve been but also showing where we’ll have to go next time!
Here’s a look at our South American journey using the mapping service at tripline.net. Note that each red dot is not an overnight stop, it is simply a grid reference to help me accurately draw the map. You can click on the map to make it bigger.
If you’re really into this sort of thing, and who isn’t?, then you can open this link South America and play with the interactive map which will allow a drill-down look at the details.
And if you still haven’t had enough, here’s another view of our travels in North America and Central America.
Fascinating, thanks for the maps! I’ve read all of the blogs and looking forward to my travels in Europe (by proxy). Best wishes for safe and happy travels.
Hi Linda, crazy thing is we love our maps but I haven’t put too many into the blog – we’ll try to do better in Europe! Take care, Bill
Hi Bill & Julie.
Congratulations on completing the American legs of your great adventure. As you may know XPCamper is branching out into Europe, initially offering the V2 model on Isuzu, Toyota and Nissan trucks, from our base in Tolleshunt Major, Essex, UK.
Please let me know if there is anything we can assist with. Our demo V2 will be shipped from Grass Valley to Felixstowe in around 10 days, so if there are camper parts you need that could be an option.
It would be great to meet up during your European travels, perhaps at the Adventure Overland Show in Stratford-Upon-Avon? With so many great photos and stories you might even consider giving a seminar – I’m sure the room would be packed.
Emma and I will be roaming the continent so even if you have no plans to visit the UK there may be another opportunity.
Enjoy your time in Australia!
Hi Gavin, thanks for the mail and great news XP Camper is expanding into Europe. We won’t be in the UK until late September but perhaps we can catch up sooner. I’ll write to you separately so we can compare schedules.
Cheers,
Bill
When you put them all together…..you’ve been everywhere!!!
Wow, amazing.
You will soon be back in a different hemisphere and on the road again, refreshed and raring to go. Stay safe and happy travels
Xoxo
Thanks Anne. We’re in transition between southern hemisphere and northern hemisphere – can’t wait to get at it again!
